3 Steps To Have A Clean and Tidy Cabinet

Posted by Mumu Living 29/08/2023 Tips and Ideas,

When shopping season rolls around, it’s frustrating to see your cupboard stuffed with last season clothing, yet getting new clothes are essential, what a

bummer. Therefore, Mumu is gonna help you with these tips.

1) Lose some “weight”

First, pick out clothes you would wear daily. Usually, we have no more than 3 different colour choices for our top, so the lesser the type of colours, the

easier it is for us to choose our outfit as well.

Next, keep only your essentials, the rest goes into the bin.

This is where it gets complicated as everything is “essential” to us. So, Mumu has a solution for you. For example, clothes that are not even out of the

packaging? If it fits, keep it; if it doesn’t, give it away.

Clothes children have outgrown? Well, if its still intact and nice, consider giving it away to others in need, but if the quality has degraded severely,

consider recycling it.

Clothes that have been collecting dust? Don’t convince yourself that you will wear it soon, if you’re gonna wear it you would’ve already. Instantly give

those away as well.

2) Classify your clothes.

This step is one of the most important one. Firstly, classify your clothing according to occasions such as for work, daily and formal wear.

From the groups listed above, rearrange the clothing into sub-groups as jeans, fancy pants, shirts, jackets or outerwear etc, this helps ease the trouble

when looking for a specific clothing.

Additionally, sports and swim attires, lingerie and socks can also be grouped together and placed together elsewhere.

After that, it can be further separated based on colours, this way when you buy new ones you wouldn’t buy the ones you already have.

Aside from everyday T-shirts that get thrown aside rather quickly, opt to get other clothing items near your maximum budget range, this way, you will

better take care of those items and reduce the need to buy new ones constantly.

Jackets, suits or blazers should go for branded ones as they offer a better quality and long-lasting material, also prevents you from needing to buying

new ones.

3) Organise, organise, organise….

Decide where to put certain clothing base on the weight of it and how often will you be visiting them.

Put clothing such as windbreakers, jackets or formal suits which are rarely worn on the top shelf.

The middle section is where your shirts and regular wear go as they offer easy access and prevents stacking which will cause wrinkles on them.

Lastly, the bottom section drawers are where you put everyday clothing items such as socks, underwears, small bags, pants, skirts, jeans and so on.

Finally, shoes can also be placed in boxes allowing for easy access to it and easy to identify the shoe.

After all of this, Mumu hopes that you no longer have a crampy messy cabinet anymore. However, a reminder is to not constantly get new clothing but only

get them when its really in a need.

That’s all for now, till we meet again.
