TV Cabinets & Consoles

Every living room is different, which is why MUMU Living carries eight distinct TV cabinet formats, each designed for a different room size, wall configuration, or storage need.

• Standard TV Consoles

Fixed-width units between 1.80m and 2.00m. The most versatile format for Malaysian condos and terrace house living rooms with a standard feature wall. Models start from RM725.

• Extendable TV Consoles

Width-adjustable designs that stretch from 1.65m up to 3.00m. Ideal for buyers who want flexibility, or for open-plan layouts where a fixed-width piece feels too narrow or too committed. Six models are available, including Hannah, Hudson, Jarren, Noelle, Dion, and Olivia.

• Solid Wood TV Cabinets

Built from natural timber for a warmer, more textured surface than engineered wood. Available in 1.80m to 2.15m widths. Five models are available: Kara, Nara, Mori, Ruka, and Sofie.

• TV Cabinets with Glass Doors

Closed storage with a transparent door panel that hides clutter while keeping displayed items visible. Available in the Julia 1.80m and Yumi 2.00m models.

• Flip-Down Door TV Cabinet

The Rudy 2.00m to 2.40m model features a flat front panel that drops down for access. It looks clean when closed and remains fully accessible when open, making it suitable for living rooms where a minimal look is a priority.

• Tall Console TV Cabinets

Narrower and taller than a standard console, suited to smaller walls or rooms where width is limited. The Olena 1.30m to 1.50m model is designed for compact spaces without sacrificing storage height.

• Modular Console Sets

The Kiki Modular Console Cabinet Set allows you to build and configure your console layout to fit your wall dimensions.

• TV Cabinet and Coffee Table Bundles

Matched sets pairing a TV console with a coordinating coffee table at 9% to 11% off the combined individual price. The Charmaine and Jeanna bundles are available as complete living room sets.

All engineered wood models feature smooth laminated surfaces that are easy to wipe clean and designed to resist the humidity levels common in Malaysian homes. Solid wood models develop a natural patina over time and benefit from occasional wood-safe conditioning. They are also easy to clean, long-lasting, and crafted to blend seamlessly with other living room furniture such as sofas, coffee tables, or shelves.

Choosing a TV cabinet is rarely just about style. It’s about how you use your living room every day:

• Room Size Matters: Apartment dwellers often look for slimmer, raised designs that keep the space feeling open. In contrast, landed homes or family living rooms can carry wider consoles that balance out a large wall and provide extra storage.
• Think Storage Needs: Families with children often prefer cabinets with drawers to keep remotes, toys, and cables out of sight. For households where the TV is mainly for streaming, a simpler open stand is usually enough.
• Match Your Décor: A light oak cabinet pairs beautifully with modern minimalist sofas, while darker finishes add contrast in neutral-toned rooms.

Tip: Measure both your TV and the available wall space before shopping. A good rule is to choose a cabinet a little wider than your television for stability and proportion.

The most common sizing mistake is choosing a console that is the same width as your television, which can make the setup look unbalanced and unstable. As a general guideline, your TV cabinet should be 15cm to 30cm wider than your TV screen on each side.

Use this as a starting reference:

• 43-inch TV (approx. 95cm wide): Choose a console of 1.30m – 1.60m, such as Olena 1.30m – 1.50m or Graham Console 1.50m – 1.86m.
• 50–55-inch TV (approx. 111cm – 122cm wide): Choose a console of 1.60m – 1.90m, such as Charmaine 1.80m, Hailey 1.80m or Olivia Extendable 1.65m – 2.00m.
• 55–65-inch TV (approx. 122cm – 144cm wide): Choose a console of 1.80m – 2.20m, such as Hannah 2.00m, Hudson 2.00m or Grandia 2.00m.
• 65–75-inch TV (approx. 144cm – 166cm wide): Choose a console of 2.00m – 2.60m, such as Rudy Flip-Down 2.00m – 2.40m, Noelle Extendable 2.12m – 2.60m or Dion Extendable 2.20m – 2.40m.
• 75-inch TV and above (approx. 166cm+ wide): Choose a console of 2.40m – 3.00m, such as Jarren Extendable 2.04m – 3.00m, Hannah Extendable 1.99m – 3.00m or Hudson Extendable 1.99m – 3.00m.

Once the cabinet is in place, styling is what makes the space feel personal:

• Layer Décor Pieces: Add a small vase, framed photo, or stacked books alongside the screen to soften its presence. Many homeowners also use scented candles to create a cosy evening atmosphere.
• Hide the Wires: Built-in compartments or simple cable organisers will hide messy wires, especially in family homes with multiple devices.
• Blend with Other Furniture: If your coffee table is wooden, try matching tones with your console. Apartment owners often go for lighter woods to create an airy feel, while darker finishes suit larger homes that need a more grounded look.

These small touches make the area feel welcoming, not just practical.
